Authorities in Jalandhar arrested a robbery suspect after examining more than 150 CCTV recordings.
Jalandhar police announced the arrest of a man suspected of involvement in a recent robbery after an extensive review of citywide surveillance footage. The investigation began following reports of a theft that took place earlier this week, prompting officials to trace the perpetrators through available video evidence.
Investigators accessed and scrutinised over 150 CCTV cameras installed across commercial areas, residential lanes and transport hubs in Jalandhar. The systematic analysis helped pinpoint the suspect's movements and identify the vehicle used during the crime.
The suspect was apprehended later on the same day at a location near the city’s central market, where police confirmed his identity through the visual records. No injuries were reported, and the stolen items are being recovered.
Police officials stated that the case remains under investigation and that further inquiries will focus on any accomplices and the full extent of the loot recovered.
