Jaipur to Deploy ITMS Cameras at Intersections for Automatic Traffic Fines

The Jaipur municipal authorities plan to expand ITMS camera coverage at major junctions, enabling automatic issuance of fines to traffic violators.
Jaipur’s traffic police, in coordination with the municipal corporation, have announced a rollout of additional Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras at key city intersections. The move aims to tighten enforcement of traffic rules by capturing violations such as red‑light crossing, overspeeding and illegal lane changes.
The newly installed ITMS units are equipped with high‑resolution video and automated number‑plate recognition software. When a violation is detected, the system records the vehicle’s details and generates a digital fine that is sent to the registered owner’s address, eliminating the need for on‑spot manual ticketing.
Officials expect the expanded surveillance network to reduce accidents and improve traffic flow across Jaipur. The installation is slated to begin next month, with full operational coverage targeted within six months, according to the traffic department’s schedule.
