The Rajasthan administration has launched a rescue operation at three key intersections in Jaipur to curb begging, scheduled to run until October 30.
The Rajasthan government announced today that a rescue campaign targeting begging will be operational at three major traffic nodes in Jaipur—Rambag Circle, the JDA (Jaipur Development Authority) junction and the OTS (Old Town Subdivision) intersection.
The operation, slated to run until 30 October, will see police personnel, municipal workers and social‑welfare officers deployed to identify individuals engaged in begging, provide them with rehabilitation assistance and enforce existing anti‑begging regulations.
Officials described the drive as part of a wider effort to make Jaipur cleaner and safer, reducing street‑level solicitation that inconveniences commuters and tourists.
The initiative also includes public‑awareness activities, distribution of informational pamphlets and coordination with NGOs that offer livelihood‑training programmes.
The administration will assess the impact after the end‑date and may adjust or extend measures based on the results.
