Rajinikanth’s sequel Jailer 2 has earned a record first‑day gross, outpacing the releases GOAT and Jana Nayagan, and is on track to cross the ₹50 crore mark.
Jailer 2, the latest film starring Rajinikanth, opened on Friday with a robust first‑day performance that eclipsed the opening collections of GOAT and Jana Nayagan. The film’s opening day gross has been reported as the highest for a Rajinikanth release in the current year.
Industry analysts note that the strong start is a positive indicator for the film’s overall run, especially given the competitive releases that opened around the same time. While exact figures have not been disclosed, the trend suggests that Jailer 2 is well positioned to reach the ₹50 crore milestone.
The film’s success is attributed to Rajinikanth’s enduring fan base and the anticipation built around the sequel’s storyline. Distributors are optimistic about the film’s performance in the coming weeks, with expectations of steady growth.
If the current trajectory continues, Jailer 2 could become one of the top‑grossing releases of the year, further cementing Rajinikanth’s legacy in Indian cinema.
