The Tamil action film Jailer 2 is approaching the ₹200 crore mark in Tamil Nadu, putting Rajinikanth's record for the highest‑grossing Tamil film at risk.
Jailer 2, a recent Tamil action release, has been performing strongly at the box office, drawing crowds across the state of Tamil Nadu.
The film is now close to crossing the ₹200 crore threshold, a milestone that would place it among the highest‑grossing Tamil movies ever.
This development puts Rajinikanth’s long‑standing record for the highest‑grossing Tamil film under threat. The actor’s film has held the top spot for years, and Jailer 2’s surge could rewrite the state’s box‑office history.
Industry analysts note that the film’s success reflects both strong audience interest and effective marketing, and the final tally will be announced after the weekend’s screenings.
