The Rajinikanth‑starrer Jailer 2 earned ₹95 crore on Friday, marking a strong second day but still lagging behind the record set by Coolie.
Jailer 2, starring superstar Rajinikanth, posted a collection of ₹95 crore on Friday, its second day of release. The figure reflects a steady performance after a modest opening, but it falls short of the ₹1.14 billion record held by the film Coolie.
Industry analysts note that while Jailer 2’s earnings are solid, the gap to Coolie’s benchmark remains wide. The film’s distributors anticipate a gradual decline in the coming days as the market adjusts to the competition.
The weekend haul, which includes Saturday and Sunday, is expected to push the total past ₹1.2 billion, but it will still trail behind Coolie’s historic run. Box‑office trackers will monitor the trend closely as the film continues to screen across multiplexes.
Despite the shortfall, Rajinikanth’s presence continues to draw crowds, and the film’s marketing team is gearing up for a promotional push to sustain momentum into the second week.
