Jabalpur's Bargi Dam Hits 10-Year Low Due to Deficient Rainfall

The Bargi Dam in Jabalpur has recorded its lowest water level in a decade, impacting the Narmada river's flow and forcing locals to cross exposed riverbeds.

Jabalpur is experiencing a significant drop in water levels at the Bargi Dam, marking the lowest point in the last ten years for this period. This severe decline is attributed to insufficient rainfall.

The diminished water reserves have led to a noticeable reduction in the Narmada river's flow. Several river ghats in the region are now showing significantly lower water levels.

In some locations, the decrease in water depth has become so pronounced that residents are reportedly able to walk across the riverbed, highlighting the extent of the water scarcity.
