The Indo‑Tibetan Border Police has identified 12,333 unfilled positions while border standoffs with China continue in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has disclosed that more than twelve thousand three hundred thirty‑three posts across its ranks remain vacant. The shortfall spans recruitment, training and deployment levels, creating a manpower gap at a time when the force is tasked with securing the sensitive Indo‑China frontier.
Arunachal Pradesh, which shares a disputed boundary with China, has seen a series of face‑offs between the two armies in recent months. The heightened patrol activity and occasional skirmishes have amplified the need for fully staffed border units.
