The Indian Territorial Army Border Police (ITBP) chief has unveiled a new training program aimed at averting a Galwan‑like confrontation, as skirmishes with China continue along the Arunachal Pradesh frontier.

The Indian Territorial Army Border Police (ITBP) has announced a new training course designed to prevent a repeat of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash with China, which resulted in the loss of 20 Indian soldiers. The initiative comes as face‑offs with Chinese troops persist along the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to the ITBP chief, the program will focus on advanced tactical drills, rapid response protocols, and enhanced coordination with other border forces. He emphasized that the training aims to equip troops with the skills needed to manage high‑intensity encounters without escalating to lethal force.

Defense analysts say the move reflects a broader effort by the Indian Army to strengthen border readiness after the Galwan incident. The new curriculum is expected to be rolled out over the next few months, with regular assessments to gauge effectiveness.

While the training initiative is a proactive step, officials noted that the underlying tensions along the Arunachal border remain unresolved, and continued vigilance is required to maintain peace in the region.
