The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the IPL 2027 auction will be held in Goa on December 16, with teams required to submit player retentions by November 15.
The BCCI confirmed that the player auction for the 2027 edition of the Indian Premier League will take place in Goa on December 16, according to Business Standard.
Franchises have been instructed to finalize their retained player lists by November 15, after which the remaining squad slots will be filled through the auction.
The Goa venue marks the first time the league’s auction will be held in the coastal state, reflecting BCCI’s effort to rotate major events across regions.
Teams are expected to strategize around the retention deadline, balancing core players with the opportunity to bid for new talent in the upcoming auction.
The auction will determine the composition of squads for the 2027 season, influencing player market values and team dynamics ahead of the tournament’s launch.
