Intern doctors at Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal have been on strike for three days demanding higher stipends, leaving the outpatient department closed and surgeries postponed, forcing patients to seek care elsewhere.
For the third consecutive day, intern doctors at Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal have been staging a sit‑in on the hospital grounds, demanding an increase in their monthly stipends.
The protest has effectively shut the outpatient department, which is operating only for a limited window each day, and has forced the postponement of scheduled surgeries.
Patients arriving at the facility reported frustration and have been compelled to travel to other towns for treatment, according to witnesses at the scene.
Hospital administration has said it is in talks with the interns but has not provided a timeline for resumption of normal services.
