An industry association announced plans to channel investments worth Rs 1 lakh crore into West Bengal, aiming to boost the state's industrial growth.

An industry body has declared its intention to mobilise investments totaling Rs 1 lakh crore for West Bengal, signalling a major push to expand the state's manufacturing and services base. The announcement, made through a DD News briefing, underscores the association's confidence in West Bengal's policy environment and infrastructure readiness.
The pledged capital is expected to flow into sectors such as textiles, chemicals, renewable energy and logistics, where the state has identified growth potential. Analysts project that the inflow could generate thousands of jobs and spur ancillary development in supply chains.
State officials have welcomed the proposal, stating that the government will facilitate land allocation, clearances and incentives to ensure smooth project execution. A series of stakeholder meetings are slated for the coming weeks to detail project specifics and timelines.
If the investment plan materialises as outlined, West Bengal could see a notable rise in its contribution to the national economy, reinforcing its position as a key industrial hub in eastern India.
