Indore's municipal corporation will suspend tap water supply for a day on Tuesday to repair a pipeline leak, replace valves and carry out inter‑connection work after the Narmada line shutdown.
Indore will experience a city‑wide water supply shutdown on Tuesday for 24 hours after the Narmada water line is taken offline for maintenance. The Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation announced that the temporary cut is necessary to address a pipeline leak and to replace aging valves.
During the shutdown, crews will inspect the main distribution network, fix the identified leak, replace faulty valves and complete inter‑connection work that links the Narmada line with the city's secondary supply system. The operation is scheduled to start early morning and is expected to be completed within the day.
Residents have been advised to store sufficient water for drinking and household needs and to avoid non‑essential water usage until supply resumes in the evening. The corporation assured that the maintenance will improve long‑term reliability of Indore's water supply.
