The 17.5‑km Gandhi Nagar‑Radisson stretch of the Indore Metro will commence operations on 6 September, with trains every 15 minutes and modern amenities.
The Indore Metro has added a 17.5‑kilometre corridor linking Gandhi Nagar with the Radisson intersection. Sixteen new stations will serve the route, and a train will run at 15‑minute intervals, providing a rapid link across the city.
The service, inaugurated by the Chief Minister, includes air‑conditioned coaches, digital ticketing platforms and special fare discounts to encourage commuter uptake. Officials said the extension is part of a broader plan to expand the metro network to cover key residential and commercial zones.
Operations are scheduled to begin on 6 September, with the first train expected to depart from Gandhi Nagar station at the announced time. The rollout aims to reduce road congestion and offer a reliable alternative to private vehicles for daily travelers.
Transport authorities will monitor passenger flow during the initial weeks and may adjust frequency based on demand. The new line is expected to boost connectivity for neighborhoods along the corridor and support Indore’s urban mobility goals.
