Indore, which scored a perfect 200 in the 2025 clean‑air survey, fell to 199 points and was overtaken by Lucknow, the mayor says anti‑pollution steps will be stepped up.
Indore, which achieved a flawless score of 200 out of 200 in the 2025 clean‑air survey, slipped by a single point in the latest assessment.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs released the new rankings on Thursday, showing Lucknow at the top with a perfect 200, while Indore recorded 199, moving it to second place.
The city’s mayor announced that the municipal corporation will intensify anti‑pollution measures, including expanding green cover, tightening vehicle emission checks and upgrading real‑time air‑quality monitoring.
Officials stressed that the marginal drop highlights the need for continuous effort and said a detailed review of the data will guide corrective actions before the next annual survey.
