A two‑day semiconductor summit began in Indore, focusing on a proposed ₹6,200 crore investment to develop a domestic chip manufacturing ecosystem.

Indore, Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated a two‑day semiconductor summit today, bringing together government officials, industry leaders and potential investors. The event is organized by the state government in partnership with national industry bodies to chart a roadmap for a domestic semiconductor ecosystem.

The summit’s central agenda is a ₹6,200 crore investment proposal aimed at setting up a semiconductor fabrication plant, ancillary units and research facilities. Delegates will review the financial framework, policy incentives and infrastructure requirements needed to attract private capital.

Organisers expect the summit to accelerate India’s Make in India goals for high‑tech manufacturing, positioning Indore as a hub for chip design and production. The discussions will also cover skill development, supply‑chain integration and export potential.

If approved, the investment could create thousands of jobs and reduce the country’s reliance on imported chips, a strategic priority highlighted in recent national technology policies.
