Indore Flooded: Heavy Rains Expose Drainage Woes, Cause Major Traffic Jams

Heavy monsoon rains in Indore have led to significant waterlogging in over 20 major intersections, causing extensive traffic jams and highlighting issues with the city's drainage system.

Monsoon showers have brought much-needed relief from humidity in Indore, but have also exposed the city's drainage infrastructure and the effectiveness of large-scale projects. Several key areas experienced severe waterlogging following the initial rains.

Major traffic disruptions were reported across more than 20 prominent intersections, including Ring Road, LIG, and Khajrana. Water levels in these areas reportedly rose to between two and three feet, leading to hours-long traffic gridlocks. The situation has raised questions about the preparedness of the city's civic bodies to handle monsoon downpours.
