The Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Department, through its Indore division, has drafted a targeted strategy for the upcoming Rabi season in response to below‑average monsoon rainfall.
In a meeting chaired by the joint director of agriculture, officials recommended that farmers adopt water‑efficient crops such as millets, pulses and oilseeds, and consider organic farming practices to conserve moisture.
The department said the guidance aims to protect yields despite water scarcity and will be disseminated via extension services and local Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
