India's Ministry of External Affairs has dismissed China's recent proposal to rename Arunachal Pradesh, reaffirming that the region remains an integral part of India.

On Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement rejecting the People's Republic of China’s latest diplomatic note that suggested renaming Arunachal Pradesh.

The MEA reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh has been an integral part of India since independence and that any attempt to alter its name or status is unacceptable.

The statement came after China released a diplomatic communication to India, proposing a new designation for the state, which India has consistently opposed.

The Indian government has urged the international community to respect its territorial integrity and has called for dialogue to resolve bilateral differences.
