The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) survey shows a rise in manufacturing sentiment across India for the July‑September quarter.

FICCI's latest manufacturing sentiment survey, released on Thursday, shows a positive shift in the index for the July‑September quarter, rising to 55.3 from 53.8 in the previous period.

Manufacturers reported higher output levels and an uptick in new orders, especially in the automotive and electronics sectors. Export orders also grew, driven by a stronger global demand for Indian goods.

The rise in sentiment is expected to support the broader economic recovery, as the manufacturing sector contributes roughly 16% to India’s GDP. Analysts note that a sustained uptick could translate into higher employment and investment.

FICCI’s chief economist, Dr. R. K. Sharma, said the survey indicates a “steady recovery” in the industry, but cautioned that supply‑chain bottlenecks and raw‑material price pressures still pose risks.
