India’s foreign exchange reserves climbed by $6.1 billion to $682.35 billion as of July 24, marking a two‑month high, according to the Reserve Bank of India.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reported that the country’s foreign exchange reserves increased by $6.1 billion, reaching $682.35 billion as of July 24. This marks the highest level in the past two months.

The rise reflects a steady inflow of foreign currency, driven by robust trade balances and foreign direct investment inflows. The RBI noted that the reserves have remained above the $650 billion threshold for the last quarter.

Economists view the growth as a sign of financial stability, giving the government more leeway to manage external shocks and support the rupee’s valuation.

The RBI will continue monitoring global market conditions to ensure that reserves remain sufficient to meet external obligations.
