Shares of an Indian visa service provider fell 14% after investigators linked the firm to a €25,000 bribery allegation in a Spanish consular visa fraud case.

Investigators probing a visa‑fraud network centred at the Spanish commercial consulate in Algiers have named an Indian visa‑service company as part of the probe. The inquiry, which began with allegations of forged documents and bribery, now includes a claim that the firm offered a payment of €25,000 to facilitate visa approvals.

Following the news, the company’s listed shares experienced a sharp sell‑off, slipping about 14% on the day of the report. Market analysts attributed the decline to heightened regulatory risk and the potential for legal penalties.

Regulatory authorities in Spain have not disclosed further details, but they indicated that the investigation will continue to examine the extent of the alleged corruption and any other parties involved. The Indian firm has not issued a public statement regarding the accusations.

The episode underscores the vulnerability of overseas visa‑processing agencies to scrutiny when foreign governments tighten anti‑corruption measures, and it raises concerns for investors in similar service providers.
