Indian Railways has announced a series of special trains and temporary halts on several routes to accommodate the influx of pilgrims attending the Shravani Mela in Jharkhand.

Indian Railways on Thursday announced a set of special trains and temporary halts across several routes to facilitate the movement of pilgrims attending the Shravani Mela in Jharkhand.

The 12‑day festival, held at the Rajrappa temple, attracts thousands of devotees each year. The railway ministry said that a total of 15 special trains will run between major junctions such as Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad, while 20 stations will have temporary halts to allow passengers to disembark for the pilgrimage.

The announcement comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to manage the expected surge in footfall during the festival period.
