The Indian Army dismissed recent reports that China seized 50 kilometres of Arunachal Pradesh territory, labeling the story as a misinformation campaign allegedly orchestrated by Pakistan.
The Indian Army issued an official statement on Wednesday rejecting circulating reports that China had captured a 50‑kilometre stretch of land in Arunachal Pradesh. The defence forces said there has been no alteration to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the sector and that ground realities remain unchanged.
The claim first appeared on social media platforms and was amplified by several unverified news portals. Army spokesperson Lt Gen Mohan Kumar clarified that the Indian side continues to monitor the border closely, but there is no evidence of any Chinese incursion of the magnitude suggested.
In the same statement, the army warned that the narrative appears to be part of a broader misinformation drive allegedly orchestrated by Pakistan to exploit Indo‑China tensions. Officials added that any attempts to destabilise the strategic front will be countered with factual communication and diplomatic engagement.
No casualties or infrastructure damage have been reported from the border area, and the Indian defence establishment remains vigilant as it maintains routine patrols along the LAC.
