On 2024-08-07, officials from India and Vietnam reached a consensus to enhance trade, investment and technology partnership, outlining measures to increase bilateral trade volume and facilitate joint ventures.
The pact includes provisions for reducing trade barriers, simplifying customs procedures, and encouraging technology transfer between the two countries, while also creating a conducive environment for startups and SMEs.
Both sides highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership amid growing competition in the Indo‑Pacific region, emphasizing cooperation in information technology, renewable energy and digital infrastructure.
The agreement is expected to boost India's exports to Vietnam and attract Vietnamese investment in India, further integrating the two economies into the regional supply chain.
