A significant trade agreement between India and the United Kingdom is scheduled to commence on July 15, offering Indian businesses preferential access to the UK market.

India and the UK are poised to implement a new trade pact on July 15, a development expected to significantly enhance bilateral commerce. The agreement is set to provide Indian exporters with duty-free access for approximately 99% of their goods entering the United Kingdom.

This Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CETA) also aims to broaden opportunities for Indian service providers. It includes expanded access across 137 different sub-sectors within the UK market, signalling a deeper economic integration between the two nations.

The pact is anticipated to foster economic growth and strengthen business ties, making it easier for Indian companies to trade and invest in the UK. The zero-duty access is particularly beneficial for key Indian export sectors.
