Coach Khalid Jamil expressed disbelief over the upcoming friendly against Brazil, describing the fixture as a dream come true for Indian football.
Veteran coach Khalid Jamil said he still finds it hard to believe that the Indian side will be playing a friendly against Brazil. The comment came as the football federation confirmed the date and venue for the high‑profile encounter, marking the first time the two nations will meet in a non‑competitive setting.
Jamil, who has been at the helm of the Indian national team, described the fixture as a "once‑in‑a‑lifetime" opportunity for players to test themselves against a world‑class opponent. He added that the experience would provide valuable lessons and boost the confidence of the squad ahead of upcoming tournaments.
The match, scheduled for later this year, will see a Brazilian side featuring several internationally recognised stars. Indian officials hope the game will generate greater interest in football across the country and inspire a new generation of talent.
While details such as ticket pricing and broadcast arrangements are still being finalised, the announcement has already sparked excitement among fans and media alike, with many viewing the clash as a milestone for Indian football's growth on the global stage.
