At the BRICS 2026 summit, India highlighted regional specialties such as sattu from Bihar and coffee from Odisha, underscoring the country's diverse agricultural strengths.

New Delhi – Representatives from India used the BRICS 2026 summit as a platform to promote home‑grown food and beverage products. Stalls featuring Bihar's protein‑rich sattu and Odisha's specialty coffee were set up alongside other regional items, aiming to attract investment and trade partners from the other four member nations.

The showcase was part of a broader "India Story" narrative that the government has been pushing at multilateral forums. Officials said the exhibit highlights the potential of India's agro‑based industries to meet growing global demand for healthy and ethically sourced commodities.

Delegates from Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa visited the pavilion, sampling the products and expressing interest in sourcing agreements. Trade officials indicated that follow‑up discussions will focus on supply‑chain logistics, certification standards and market access.

Analysts view the move as a strategic effort to position India as a reliable supplier of niche agricultural goods, complementing its larger export agenda in sectors such as textiles and pharmaceuticals.

The BRICS summit, scheduled to conclude next week, will also host talks on economic cooperation, but India's product showcase has already drawn considerable media attention across the bloc.
