India Post launches 24/7 Speed Post and Parcel booking in 11 Andhra Pradesh cities

India Post has rolled out round‑the‑clock Speed Post and parcel‑booking services across eleven major cities of Andhra Pradesh, aiming to boost postal convenience for residents and businesses.
The Department of Posts announced that its 24/7 Speed Post and parcel‑booking counters are now operational in eleven key urban centres of Andhra Pradesh. The move is part of a broader effort to modernise postal services and cater to growing demand for instant logistics solutions.
Customers can now place Speed Post or parcel requests at any time of day, without having to adhere to traditional office hours. The service is expected to benefit small businesses, e‑commerce sellers and individuals who require time‑sensitive deliveries.
India Post officials said the pilot will be monitored for usage patterns and customer feedback before considering a nationwide rollout. The initiative aligns with the government’s Digital India agenda, which seeks to integrate technology into public services.
The selected cities include Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati and others, covering a mix of commercial hubs and densely populated areas. Staff at the new counters have been trained to handle digital booking platforms and provide assistance in multiple languages.
The postal department expects the 24/7 model to improve revenue streams while offering a more flexible, customer‑centric experience across the state.
