Ahead of the 2026 BRICS summit, India is deploying around 25,000 security staff and anticipating a surge in demand for luxury hotel rooms.

India is set to host the 2026 BRICS summit, bringing together leaders from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa and the host nation. The event is expected to draw extensive diplomatic delegations and high‑profile business contingents.

To ensure safety, the government has mobilised roughly 25,000 security personnel, including police, paramilitary forces and specialized units. These teams will be deployed across venues, transport corridors and accommodation sites, with coordination among central and state agencies.

The influx of delegations is also driving a sharp rise in demand for luxury hotel rooms in the host city. Hotel operators report that bookings for premium properties have surged, prompting additional rooms to be earmarked for official guests.

Authorities say the security and hospitality preparations are part of a broader effort to showcase India’s capability to host large‑scale international gatherings while safeguarding participants and supporting the local economy.
