On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high‑level meeting with the leaders of Malaysia and Ethiopia in New Delhi. The discussions centred on deepening defence cooperation and expanding Indian investment in both countries.
Modi highlighted the need for joint exercises, technology transfer and intelligence sharing, aiming to create a more robust security partnership in the Indo‑Pacific region.
During the talks, the Malaysian Prime Minister welcomed the proposal to establish an Indian Consulate General in Kota Kinabalu, signalling stronger diplomatic ties.
Ethiopia’s leader reiterated the country’s commitment to amplifying the Global South’s voice and forging deeper strategic links with India, especially in defence and maritime security.
