India’s national team has dropped former cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi following two consecutive losses, sparking criticism from fans and social media users.
India’s cricket selectors announced the removal of former player Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from the squad after the team suffered back‑to‑back defeats in recent matches. The decision was made ahead of the upcoming series, with selectors citing a need to revamp the lineup.
Sooryavanshi, who has represented India in limited‑overs cricket, had been a regular in the side for several years. His recent performances were deemed inconsistent, prompting the board to look for fresh talent.
The two losses came in consecutive fixtures against regional opponents, raising questions about the team’s strategy and player form. Analysts noted that the results highlighted a broader issue of squad stability.
Social media users and cricket fans reacted strongly to the announcement, with many criticizing the selection committee for not giving Sooryavanshi a chance to regain form. The debate has reignited discussions about transparency and merit in team selection.
