All schools across India will remain closed on August 26 to observe Eid‑e‑Milad, Raksha Bandhan and Onam.
India’s Ministry of Education announced that schools nationwide will be closed on August 26 to observe the festivals of Eid‑e‑Milad, Raksha Bandhan and Onam.
The decision follows the government’s practice of granting holidays for major religious and cultural celebrations, allowing students and teachers to participate in community observances.
Parents and students are advised to check their local school boards for any additional notices, as some states may adjust the holiday schedule to accommodate local calendars.
The closure is expected to affect millions of students, with schools across both secular and faith‑based institutions observing the break.
