India hosted the 28th Meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) in New Delhi, reinforcing cooperation for a stable and prosperous Indian Ocean region.

New Delhi served as the venue for the 28th Meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), held on June 15-16, 2026. India currently holds the Chairship of IORA, leading these important deliberations.

The primary focus of the meeting was to review the progress made across various institutional matters and priority areas of IORA. Discussions also centered on the development of the next IORA Action Plan, slated for implementation between 2028 and 2032.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that the meeting aimed to reinforce cooperation among member states. The overarching goal is to foster a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indian Ocean Region for all involved.
