India and Kuwait inaugurate Joint Defence Committee in New Delhi

New Delhi witnessed the inaugural session of the India‑Kuwait Joint Defence Committee on Monday. Senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and their Kuwaiti counterparts gathered at a government venue to formalise the committee’s structure and agenda.

The meeting focused on outlining mechanisms for regular dialogue, joint training exercises and information sharing to bolster security ties. Both sides expressed a commitment to deepen cooperation in areas such as maritime security, counter‑terrorism and defence technology.

While no specific agreements were signed, the establishment of the committee is seen as a strategic step to enhance bilateral defence relations and coordinate responses to regional challenges.

The inaugural session concluded with a joint statement reaffirming the importance of sustained engagement and the intention to convene the committee periodically at senior levels.
