The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather advisory today, forecasting heavy rainfall and the likelihood of thunderstorms across the Northeast, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu tomorrow.
According to the advisory, low‑pressure systems are expected to bring sustained rainfall, with some areas reporting intensities that could reach the 200‑mm mark.
Residents in the affected regions are advised to stay indoors, secure loose objects, and monitor local radio and television updates for any changes in the forecast.
The IMD has also highlighted the potential for flash flooding in hilly districts and urged authorities to prepare emergency response plans.
Meteorologists say the weather pattern is part of a larger monsoon surge that is expected to continue through the week.
