IMD Issues Red Warning for Heavy Rainfall in Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a red warning on Thursday for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Rajasthan and the western region of Madhya Pradesh. A red warning indicates the highest level of alert, signalling that the expected rainfall could lead to significant flooding, landslides and damage to infrastructure. The warning covers major districts such as Jaipur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur in Rajasthan and districts like Indore, Ujjain, Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid low‑lying areas, and keep emergency kits ready. Local authorities have been instructed to mobilise flood‑control measures and to keep evacuation routes clear.
