The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for three districts in Kerala, signalling a high risk of flooding and landslides.
The alert follows a series of heavy rainfall events that have affected large parts of the state, prompting authorities to advise residents to stay indoors and avoid travel on unsealed roads.
Local officials have activated emergency response teams and are monitoring river levels closely. Residents in the affected districts are urged to heed the warnings and seek higher ground if necessary.
The IMD will continue to monitor the situation and may upgrade the alert if rainfall intensifies further.
