The India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall in two states, urging residents to stay alert as the monsoon intensifies.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning covering two states as the monsoon system strengthens across the region. Meteorologists noted that sustained downpours are likely over the next 24 to 48 hours, with the potential for localized flooding in low‑lying areas.
Authorities in the affected states have been advised to monitor river levels and prepare emergency response teams. Residents are urged to avoid non‑essential travel, secure property against water damage, and stay tuned to local bulletins for real‑time updates.
The IMD’s alert forms part of a broader weather watch that includes heightened vigilance for landslides and water‑logging in urban centers. The department will continue to release periodic advisories as the situation evolves.
