The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of continuous wet conditions over the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, expected to persist until September 23.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather outlook indicating that a wet spell will affect the coastal belt of Andhra Pradesh for the next several weeks, with the period extending up to September 23. The forecast covers the districts that lie along the Bay of Bengal, where the agency expects intermittent to heavy rainfall.

Meteorologists note that the prolonged moisture is linked to the prevailing monsoon trough and sea‑surface temperatures in the region. While the rains are essential for replenishing water tables and supporting agriculture, they may also raise the risk of localized flooding in low‑lying areas and disrupt road and rail traffic.

The IMD has advised state authorities to keep disaster‑management teams on standby and to issue timely advisories to farmers, commuters, and residents in vulnerable zones. Continuous monitoring will be undertaken, and updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
