The Indian Medical Association's Nizamabad branch organised a sports meet for doctors, aiming to promote fitness and camaraderie among medical professionals.
The Nizamabad branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) recently convened a sports meet exclusively for doctors from the region. The event featured a range of athletic activities designed to encourage physical well‑being and teamwork among medical practitioners. Organisers highlighted the importance of regular exercise for healthcare workers, who often face demanding schedules and high stress levels.
Participants included doctors from government hospitals, private clinics and teaching institutions, all of whom took part in friendly competitions such as cricket, volleyball and a short-distance run. The meet provided a rare opportunity for professionals to interact outside the clinical setting, fostering peer networking and mutual support.
IMA officials said the initiative reflects a broader effort to integrate wellness programs into the medical community. They plan to make the sports meet an annual fixture, hoping it will inspire similar events in other districts of Telangana.
The gathering concluded with a brief ceremony where certificates of participation were handed out, reinforcing the message that a healthy doctor contributes to better patient care.
