The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) Pune has commissioned an X-Band Doppler Weather Radar at Mahabaleshwar as part of Mission Mausam. This advanced facility aims to enhance weather observation capabilities in the region.

Under the initiative 'Mission Mausam', the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, has successfully inaugurated an X-Band Doppler Weather Radar. The new radar system has been installed in the hill station of Mahabaleshwar.

This advanced meteorological instrument is expected to significantly improve the accuracy and timeliness of weather monitoring in the surrounding areas. The X-Band radar technology offers higher resolution and better detection capabilities for localized weather phenomena.
