Sanskriti Jain, who served as Bhopal Municipal Corporation Commissioner for about a year, received a traditional palki farewell in Siwani, Haryana.
Sanskriti Jain, an Indian Administrative Service officer, concluded her tenure as the Commissioner of Bhopal Municipal Corporation after roughly twelve months of service. The culmination of her posting was marked by a traditional palki ceremony held in Siwani, Haryana, where colleagues and local officials escorted her in a decorated carriage.
The farewell, organized by senior bureaucrats and local dignitaries, highlighted Jain's contributions to urban governance in Bhopal, including initiatives aimed at improving sanitation and civic infrastructure. While the ceremony was largely ceremonial, it underscored the customary respect accorded to IAS officers upon transfer or completion of a posting.
Following the event, Jain is expected to be reassigned to a new role within the state administration, as is routine for IAS cadres after a year-long assignment. The Bhopal municipal administration will now be overseen by a successor appointed by the state government.
