At the TNIE Summit, IAS officer KM Pandurang highlighted the untapped potential of Kurukshetra’s historic legacy to attract more tourists to Haryana.

Speaking at the recent TNIE Summit, senior civil servant KM Pandurang emphasized that Haryana’s tourism strategy can be significantly strengthened by promoting the ancient battlefield and cultural sites of Kurukshetra. He noted that the region’s mythological and historical importance draws interest from both domestic and international visitors, yet current infrastructure and marketing fall short of the demand.

Pandurang suggested a coordinated plan involving heritage conservation, improved connectivity, and targeted promotional campaigns. He urged the state government to collaborate with local stakeholders, tourism boards, and private investors to develop visitor facilities, guided tours, and digital storytelling tools.

If implemented, the proposed measures could boost tourist footfall, generate employment, and contribute to Haryana’s broader economic growth, he said, calling the initiative a "heritage‑driven tourism model" for the state.
