Hyderabad tops Telangana in voter enrollment drive, officials say

Hyderabad has emerged as the front‑runner in Telangana's current voter enrollment drive, registering more new voters than any other district, the state media reported. The surge reflects the city's active participation as the state prepares for the upcoming legislative elections.
The Election Commission of Telangana has been urging citizens to update their details and register for the first time, aiming to broaden the electoral roll ahead of the polls. Officials say urban centres like Hyderabad benefit from greater awareness campaigns and easier access to digital registration kiosks.
Authorities view the city's performance as a positive sign for democratic engagement, hoping that the momentum will spread to rural areas where enrollment rates have traditionally lagged. Continued outreach efforts are planned to ensure a comprehensive voter list across the state.
