From today, every newly constructed property in Hyderabad will be brought under the Common Valuation System (CVS), as announced by city authorities.

The municipal administration in Hyderabad has issued an order that all properties completed from today onward will be registered under the Common Valuation System (CVS). The move is intended to create a uniform framework for assessing property values and streamlining tax collection. Officials said the system will replace the earlier fragmented valuation methods and provide property owners with a single, transparent record of their asset's assessed worth. Implementation will begin immediately, with field officers instructed to update the database as new constructions are completed. The authorities expect the CVS to improve revenue efficiency and reduce disputes over property tax assessments.

The CVS rollout is part of broader reforms aimed at modernising urban governance in the capital of Telangana. While the transition is expected to be smooth, property developers and owners have been advised to cooperate with survey teams and provide necessary documentation. The city administration has set up a helpline to address queries related to the new registration process.

Stakeholders anticipate that a standardized valuation mechanism will also aid in better urban planning and infrastructure development, as accurate property data becomes readily available to planners and policymakers.
