The planned expansion of Fever Hospital in Hyderabad has been delayed for over three years, raising concerns among healthcare providers and patients.

Fever Hospital, a key tertiary care centre in Hyderabad, had announced a major expansion project in 2022 aimed at increasing bed capacity and modernising its facilities. The project, which was expected to be completed within 18 months, has yet to see any significant progress.

According to municipal records, the delay has been attributed to a combination of bureaucratic hurdles and funding gaps. While the hospital has secured state approval, the necessary financial allocations have not been released, leaving the construction site largely idle.

The prolonged postponement has impacted patient care, with several departments reporting overcrowding and longer waiting times. Doctors and nurses have expressed frustration over the lack of additional infrastructure, which was meant to ease the strain on existing resources.

Health officials have called for an urgent review of the project timeline and a clear roadmap for completion. The hospital’s management has pledged to expedite the process once the required funds are made available, but no definitive date has been announced yet.
