On Diwali, police in Indore recovered a dead woman strangled by her husband, who later hanged himself in Sai Vihar colony.
Police in Indore reported that a woman was found dead in Sai Vihar colony on the evening of Diwali. Preliminary investigation indicated that she had been strangled by her husband, whose body was later discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in the same residence.
The forensic team confirmed that the cause of death for the woman was asphyxiation due to manual strangulation. The husband’s suicide was identified as a self‑inflicted hanging, and no external injuries were noted on his body.
Local authorities have registered a case of murder‑suicide and are conducting further inquiries to establish any motive or prior history of domestic violence. The incident has shocked neighbours, who described the couple as a typical family before the tragedy unfolded.
The police have appealed to the public for any information that could aid the investigation and have reminded citizens of the importance of reporting domestic abuse early.
