A humanoid robot conducted a precise Aarti ceremony for Ayudha Puja at a major Indian IT company, drawing viral attention online.
A humanoid robot performed the traditional Ayudha Puja Aarti at a leading Indian information technology firm, marking a rare blend of cultural ritual and cutting‑edge technology. The robot, designed to mimic human gestures, lit the ceremonial lamp with exact timing and movement, replicating the ritual with remarkable precision.
The event was organized as part of the company's festive celebrations, with the robot programmed to follow the sequence of chants and offerings typically performed by human priests. Observers noted the robot's smooth arm motions and synchronized lighting of the lamp, which adhered closely to the prescribed ritual steps.
Employees and on‑lookers recorded the ceremony, and the video quickly spread across social media platforms, garnering widespread attention for its novelty. Viewers praised the initiative as a creative way to integrate tradition with modern digital capabilities.
Industry analysts see the demonstration as an example of how emerging robotics can be employed in cultural contexts, highlighting the potential for technology to enhance rather than replace human participation in heritage events.
