Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority confirmed that the King Fahd International Airport in Dammam was targeted by a Houthi attack on Sunday evening, with damage assessments underway.
The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority (GACA) announced on Sunday evening that the King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Eastern Province, had been struck in a coordinated assault attributed to Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
The incident follows a deadly attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport that occurred a day earlier, raising concerns about a possible escalation of Houthi operations against Saudi infrastructure.
Officials said that an initial assessment of the damage is ongoing and that security forces have secured the perimeter. No casualty figures have been released at this stage.
The Houthi movement, which has been engaged in a conflict with the Saudi‑led coalition since 2015, claimed responsibility for the Dammam strike through its official channels.
